Women's Bible Study

A Chance to study the Bible in an informal setting with other women.

The aims of the Women’s Bible studies are to meet together weekly to study God’s word. We do this to find application from it for our lives, to encourage one another by prayer and practical support, to meet with women of all ages and to develop opportunities to share the gospel with friends, neighbours and colleagues. Our groups include women who attend IPC with a few from other evangelical churches.

We have three women’s bibles studies groups which meet each week during term times:

Monday Morning 9.45am - 12.00pm @ the home of one of our members

This women’s bible study group consists of 8 women, again most of whom attend IPC, along with a couple of ladies who are non members. We welcome women of any age group and we attempt the studies to be flexible enough to be suitable for interested non-Christians.

We start each week by sharing answers to prayer and prayer requests. Prayer meetings are held at the end of each half term. Once a term we share a meal at someone’s home.

Tuesday Morning 9.30am - 11.15am @ the home of one of our members
(Babysitting facilities available for children 0-4)

This is a group of about 9 women, most of whom attend IPC along with a couple of ladies who attend other churches. We welcome women of any age group and the group varies from single ladies, mums with tots to Grandmothers (although it is hard to believe from the look of them!). We welcome Christians and non Christians who have a genuine interest in studying the bible.

We provide crèche facilities that are financed from small donations from the group.

We meet for coffee at 9.30. Then study a part of the Bible followed by discussion until 10.45. At the end we close with a time of prayer until 11.15. The studies are led by one of the three members of the group. Participation and discussion is encouraged. Some self study of the passage prior to attending each bible study is strongly encouraged to gain the best possible insight into God’s word.

We also meet informally during school holidays to spend time together and arrange activities for our children.

Thursday Morning 10.30am - 12.00pm @ the home of one of our housebound members

This is a small group of about 4-8 women with a large age range of 20’s – 80’s! Most of the women have links with IPC and we welcome visitors.

We meet for coffee at 10.30. Then study a book of the Bible followed by a discussion until 11.30. We close with a time of prayer until 12 noon.
