Governance of a Presbyterian Church

We believe the bible teaches that the Church is to be governed by Elders, you can find the qualifications for elders in the bible (1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1:5-9). The elders are to care for and lead the church, they seek to do that by devoting themselves to God’s Word, Prayer and Shepherding the Church Family.

Our congregation is part of the International Presbyterian Church and so our elders are accountable to and supported by the Presbytery (which is when the elders of all IPC churches in the UK meet together). You can find out more about our Presbytery here.

We also have multiple deacons in the church. The word Deacon means to be a servant . The deacons in IPC Ealing work alongside the elders and look out for the practical needs of our church family and the wider community. Caring for those who have particular needs and seeking to showing Christian love in serving others.
